3-D Apocalyptic Soup Cans 2

$100.00

Available now: the ever-popular Apocalyptic Soup Cans, now in three dimensions! I had a wild idea earlier this year to try my hand at turning them into soup-can sized trinket boxes, and after seeing how well the first batch was received, I made more!

What they are: the bodies are wood, covered in hand-painted and hand-lettered paper labels. The inside and bottom are lined with felt to protect them and any surface they are placed on, ease stacking if desired, and cushion any trinkets stored inside. The painted wooden surfaces (the rim and underside of the lid, the lip of the inside of the can) are finished with a polished wax instead of varnish to ensure the lid wont stick. I used watercolors, acrylic, and gouache for these so I would caution against excessive handling of the body of the can to prevent staining from skin oils, but the rim of the can is waxed so you can safely open and close it as often as you'd like. There are silica gel sachets in them to address any trapped moisture (I do live in Florida, after all), and I truly tried to think of everything.
